Hi there,

My partner and I care for her sister after their father died 18 months ago. We would love to hear from anyone who is in a similar situtation caring for a Williams syndrome adult. We are gettgin there but would love to talk with anyone who has experience to share!!!

My husband and I are in the same boat as you...My sister-in-law is 63 and she lived with her mother until we had to put her in a nursing home. It's been 8 months and it hasn't been easy. Have you found it hard as well? Let me tell you our woes and see if you have the same. She lies, doesn't tell you she has to go to the bathroom until it's almost too last. ( when we are out of the house) , very lazy and has a host of medical problems. Which thank God we have her in the hands of many good doctors. Oh yes, one more wrinkle to this whole thing....her mind is slipping, her thinking isn't what it used to be. We love her and just would like to know what's going on. Doctors that she sees just don't know what to tell us.

Hi , Iam the mother of a 26 year old girl with Williams Syndrome. We love her dearly but feels she needs more than we as a family can give her.We will be looking for residential care very shortly but dont know which route to take and what care would be the best for her.Has anyone out there gone throught the same proces that can give advice.

My daughter is 29 years old and she lives with my wife and me at home. We both work and Kris is home all day. W e recently moved to a new home so we don't know anyone in the neighborhood yet. But we would like to interact with other peope who have family with Williams Syndrome, of any age. Social interaction is cruxial to good mental health.     My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
