My daughter is now 29. One way to deal with this is to get involved as a parent with school activities. Your presence may ensure that you child receives the attention, education and care that you want your child to receive. Let the child's teacher know that you are monitoring all activities and that you know everything that you possibly can. Participate in the childs development and education special needs program customized to your child and don't take anything for granted. Object when you have to, add what you think is missing and negotiate in the best interest of your child's progress. No one kows your child better than you.
