I am finding this season very difficult, being surrounded by happy people and wanting to feel that joy and anticipation and sentimentality but instead feeling lonely, sad, devastated.
Better times are headed our way. Hang in there.
I had a huge melt down right in the middle of Fred Meyer while grocery shopping. People gave me a wide birth. Maybe they thought I was upset about the grocery prices.
I was playing slots at a casino when a certain song came on. I had to make a quick run to the restroom crying. I am sure people thought I had just lost my shirt, shoes & the farm gambling.
One day I thought cleaning a cupboard would be a safe project. The Grief Monster was hiding in the cupboard disguised as a home bottled bottle of plum jam that Nick & I made together shortly before he died. Instead of cleaning the cupboard I ended up clinging to the bottle of jam and crying my heart out.
On our wedding anniversary I was determined I was going to make it through. I arranged a great relaxing CD, a nice glass of chilled wine and a nice hot bubble bath. I ended not being able to hear the CD or drink the wine due to all the crying & sobbing.due to all the sobbing.
The really good news I have for you is that in time The Grief Monster eventually stops visiting so frequently and he becomes easier to get rid of. Nick died 2 1/2 years ago. I still have some very lonely and very rough times. However, they are less frequent. And, there are starting to be a time or two when I have actually enjoyed myself. So... hang in there. I am so sorry about your loss. It is devastating. However, in time things do become easier to live with.
Hugs to you.
You are so right about their music really getting to you. I too still find myself either in instant tears or changing the station as quickly as possible. Not to Football for me though, for me it would be to CMT LOL. Thanks for sharing and I do wish you the best day that you are able to have! God bless...
Best wishes,
Mary
