Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
All those feelings are normal and part of this grieving rollercoaster. You always have to remember though that you ARE somebody! You are NOT a pile of poo. And you have to stop beating yourself up about your DH passing. I used to do that too and ask all the "what ifs" and that gets us nowhere but staying hopeless and sad.
Have you tried counseling if you're not already going? I had to get on meds because I had to not fall apart because I had our baby to take care of! Don't be ashamed/embarrassed if you need counseling and/or meds. You have to do what you have to do! Also the counseling and/or meds aren't going to work if there are toxic people continuing to throw salt in your wound. You can do this! Sending big hugs!
I have been on the verge several times to put the house on the market and just sell up.........but as Laura said grief only goes with you.
Love is such a strong emotion that when you lose the love of your life grief will overshadow everything. I have been told "you will get over it in time"........no, I will not, but maybe I (and you) will learn to walk alongside it in the weeks to come.
I started today with crying......but now talking to some of you on here feel more positive.
We all need to take care of ourselves during these next few days, take time to grieve our loved ones, take time to honour our memories of them and breathe xxxxxx
