This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I just wanted to share a few phrases that I heard today. Where I work, all of our shop managers and team leaders have a status/plan of the day meeting at 7:30 in the morning. What we do is serious business, but I have been fortunate to have a leader of this group that also likes to have a little fun. We put these up on the screen and had a good laugh. Some of them apply to life in general as well, not just work! Feel free to add other phrases that you have heard. But be warned that I have been known to shamelessly steal jokes, and share them with others! (Isn't that what I'm already doing here?!)
All vacations and holidays create problems, except for one's own.
If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are really good, you will get out of it.
You are always doing something marginal when the boss drops by your desk.
The more crap you put up with, the more crap you are going to get.
If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.
No one gets sick on Wednesdays.
If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done.
