Yes, it has been bitterly cold here also. It got down to -40 overnight so it is time to curl up with a good book and stay warm. They have wind advisory out and cold temperatures for the whole week so will have to think of things to do indoors. We have been a little spoiled earlier with not being as cold as usual so it is making up for it now.

I have always loved a good snowstorm (as long as my family was home safe)...we have a camp up north and it is right in a snowbelt...Brian loved the snow and all of the fun activities the snow brought...snowmobiling, and plowing with his 4-wheeler. Havent had much snow at home this year, and I havent missed it...just isnt the same...keep warm!!

We can't decide what we are doing this winter! One day it is 54 and raining, the next it is 20 and snowing. This morning it was in the 40's and raining, right now it is 28 and snowing lightly. I am not going to complain though Chicago winters are usually bitter cold and we have been soooooo lucky this year.

Our weather has been wierd this year also--it can be upper 60's one day and 30 the next--in fact it was 68 this morning but it's headed down and will be in the 20's tonight. We've had one very light snow but nothing else---I've always loved the snow--we both always looked forward to the first good snow--snuggling in front of the fireplace, hot homemade soup. I find myself kind of looking forward to and hoping for a pretty snow but on the other hand I kind of dread it because I know he won't be here to share it and it'll be bittersweet--so I guess it will be ok if we don't get a good snow at all this year.

Nicker, if it were me I'd have to add popcorn to pop on the stove if necessary and I'm sure a fireplace!
The big chicken in me will insist on a flashlight. Lol
It is 70 here and raining but expected to start dropping shortly. Expecting it to be 29 in the am. Brrrrrrr!

Enjoy, stay safe and warm. I'd add making homemade cookies to that list. Don't know why, but I always like to bake cookies during snowstorms.

Baking the cookies WHILE having hot chocolate with IRISH CREAM, pop corn, a god book or movie, a blanket, and keeping warm!!!

I hate snow. Don't like the look of it, the driving in it, and now the shoveling of it. Get a Kindle. You can download all the books you want. I'm totally addicted to mine.

Gosh its fun here 1 foot so far still coming but a friend from TEXAS showed up - we are baking and talking and goofing off and
she even helped me blanket the horses as the snow turned to blowing icy stuff - my horses seen me with them, came running up to me like MOM where have you been with them....

SO snow plows doing fairly well on my roadway but in town so so
and my friend whose husband is in hospital which is normal 30 mins took two hours...sigh

AND PNW is still getting more...I just pray it does not turn to rain and icy stuff..

Internet has been off today also...
