Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

I still miss Nick. I still cry at times. And many time I still feel oh so alone. But honestly, IT IS GETTING BETTER. I thought it never would. Life is still not what it was with Nick but life is not the living Hell that it was at first.
The road is long with lots of ups and way too many downs. But in time you do learn to live along side of the loss and grief. It is hard but you can do it.
Many wishes to you for strength and healing.
Everyone says it takes time. For me, it has been a process of understanding who I am as a single man, accessing my needs and goals, and planning a strategy to achieve those goals.
You can make it, but I know how hard it is.
Hugs,
JoAnn
Yesterday would have been a much more difficult day had I stayed home but instead I was kept busy from 9am -9pm as our 20 year daughter had planned a memorial fundraiser to honour her father on the 1 year anniversary of her dad passing. for the first part of the day we did have moments of pain but the turn out of people that came and honoured my husband while helping out to raise money for Cancer research help us through. Now on to the next phase of this journey..
