In the past people have organized get-togethers in different locations for DS members. This should work for a cruise also. Post specifics about a particular cruise and see how many respond. I am older than most members here and have problems walking; otherwise, I would probably be interested.

When I wanted to travel in 2015 I wanted to join a small group tour but did not want to travel with couples, it would have been too heartbreaking, so I spent hours on the net googling 'women's tours'. I eventually picked a 10 day tour of Eastern Europe with an American coy called Sights & Soul. I went in late May 2015 and it was a great trip, 14 American women and a lone Aussie, me. I highly recommend this coy to any woman wanting to travel overseas in a small women only group tour. Through their website, I also learnt of an international women's organisation called 5W, which stands for Women Welcome Women worldwide, it is based in England and its members offer day hosting and max 3 nights home stay accomodation to other members travelling to their area. Local members also gather for lunches, dinners and days out. My local group meets for lunch every month and I have now meet another 30 women who share my interest in travel and have some lovely lunches with them all. I hope this info is of value.

I suppose us guys would not fit in well on an all women cruise. But it would be nice to travel with like others. Suggestions, anyone?

If you could find a little 2 or 3 seat aluminum fishing boat with oars, we could follow that cruise ship to wherever. Just maybe they'd see us and throw down some hors d'oeuvres before our arms gave out or the sharks got us - whichever happens first. No wait, on second thought we could get us some innertubes, tie a rope from them onto the back of the ship (that sounds alot easier on our arms than rowing). What the heck, if you really want to be adventurous we could each bring water skis (slalom ski if you're really brave) and ski our way to paradise! ~~ Scottie

Yes you would, slim, just think of all off us sweet ladies on there. Youd have alot of gal friends then... we would let you on, well atleast long enough to fix whatever was broken, grill us all some good fixins, and then shove you boys back off the ship, lol. j.k.. I was on a 14 day cruise on the Pacific Princess. I was seated at dinner with 4 Widowers and 4 Widows besides myself. The ship is pretty smart about who to put with whom.

It was perfect and was a wonderful way to meet new friends.

You really don't have to isolate yourself within any group onboard a cruise. There's so much mixing and mingling because of the different venues you never really know who's with who. It's perfect.

Some couples are wired together [as if with bailing wire] and they're rarely seen apart....but, that's not really the norm. More often than not you'll see folks scattered about in the bars, in the various lounges or in the casino. They really only pair-up for dinner, dancing, and the shows

There will be "Singles" meet-ups and that will give you a chance to meet other women and men who are cruising. solo

There's a website on Cruise Critic for Solo Cruisers. You might visit that. I have NEVER seen a sight on Cruise Critic for Widows or Widowers.

I’m going on a retreat with a group in October. Widow Voyages. They do host cruises as well. I am not familiar with the group but was invited by a fellow widow so I will give it a try. I did travel with a group in April called Women’s travel group run by Phyllis Stoller ( sorry guys) it was a diverse group of women, including several widows. I had a great time and would consider it again. I’ve seen other solo women’s travel groups on the net. Hope you find something that works for you.

I want in on the widower team chasing the widow cruise in our inner tubes! Ha!
