If God exists, I would be angry at him/her, and I remain angry at the mere concept of God. " work is done" type platitudes also annoy me. Anger is now prevalent in my life, and I wish it wasn't as it's just another useless emotion.

That's what my grief counselor told me about my late husband, when I asked WHY: "His job on this earth was done".
That's how I think of this: We are all gonna die, some sooner, some later. Nobody is spared. It's just his time came earlier, that's all.

Please know you are not crazy. If you are I would say most of us are. My loss is still fairly new as well. Angry at God was and still is from time to time part of my day. I still talk to him and tell him about my anger. The feelings you are having are so similar to mine. Today has been one of those days. I am hoping that tomorrow will be better. The things people say are suppose to give us comfort but they don't . I am sure at some time I may have used the same platitudes. I will never do it again . You are raw and exposed right now . It does not take much to cause you pain. Hang in and hold on we are riding the waves with you.

I lost my husband of 32 years on January 3, 2018 and every day is a struggle for me. I cry...sometimes a little....sometimes a lot. My heart "hurts" longing for him to come back to me. I feel like I'm slipping down the rabbit hole into depression and isolation and don't have the will to pull myself out of this downward spiral. I know I have to......but right now I just don't care. Does anyone else ever go thru this?

I think people don't really know what to say. They want to help, but their words usually are like salt on the wound. You are not going crazy. You are overcome with grief. It is true that everyone is given a certain amount of time on this earth. When we lose the one we love, it never seems like it was enough time. Go ahead and cry out to God. Tell Him how angry you are and how hurt and lost. That is the beginning of working through grief.

You are not going crazy. And I don't know anywhere in the Bible that it says you can't be angry at God. Whatever you are feeling is the right thing.

I had the same nonsense said to me, along with the "he's in a better place" nonsense. I wonder if any of these folks realize how much damage they to do churches by saying such stuff?? I was very angry with God for taking Cliff. A heart attack out of nowhere at 55 made me a widow at 50 with two autistic sons to care for. Angry? You betcha! I asked all the same 'why' questions. I have had different answers over the years, but I will never know the real answers.

Eventually, I had to decide on a truce with God. It will never be okay that Cliff died so young, when we needed him so much. But that doesn't mean that I can't build a life, care for my kids, or keep going.

At 6 weeks, crying every day is absolutely normal. You're not crazy - you're grieving.

I am sorry for your loss and that it is so hard right now.

I don't believe God takes are loved ones from us....I think bad things like cancer happen Heart attacks...you name it.....Accidents happen..All kinds of diseases are killing good people...even our children....That doesn't change our pain...I am disappointed with those who say if you need anything let me know...Then after the funeral you never see or hear from them...Your not going crazy..you are hurting...Keep sharing those hurts..it's not good to keep them bottled up inside...You are with others on this site who understand what your enduring....Hugs

You are still new to your grief and you are perfectly normal in crying everyday. I still do and it is 4months for me. I don't cry all day long anymore. I do have a few times during the day. It gives me hope that there will be better days ahead for all of us. We will always miss them and probably will still shed tears but the intense pain will begin to ease and not be so constant. We are here for you and we mean it.....

Thats the feeling you will be feeling when you remember him the feeling will become part of your daily life and you have to find your strength in that same feeling of pain and grief...almost 3 years down the line the pain feels so fresh but i have learnt to use that pain and grief as a source of strength and inspiration,also know that the same grief and pain can consume you ..take heart all will be well comfort yourself and accept he is no more thats one step of deafting grief.

I lost my wife three weeks ago, and my youngest daughter is also 17. I know where you are coming from with more questions than answers. I am a man of faith, but I do not want to push my beliefs on this page as we all need to find our strength in our own ways. I love this board because you all really understand when so many friends and family try. I would just ask you to look past questionable comment and try and look at the intent behind them. I don’t pretend to understand God’s clock, but I have been overwhelmed by his love that has come in so many friends and family like each of you. I have found comfort and love in every hug, message, and comment (even the misguided ones).
