Well, here I am at 41/2 months since my husband passed away and the inevitable has happened. Friends and family have gone on with their lives and probably haven't even given me a thought anymore. I suppose
they think I should stop mourning and move on with my life. Why don't they call me or email me to see how I am doing? It's true, no one really knows what I am going through, until it happens to them.
What would I do without my friends on DS?
Thank you for being here for me.

It happened to me...Big surprise. I have always been there for anyone that needed help be it someone to talk to for support or a helping hand. When my husband passed away I had a friend that told me to call her friend that had lost her husband a year before (thanks for your support)... I was dumb founded!!! And then after my husband's memorial service back at the house with all of our so called friend's one of them wanted to tell me about his failing marriage I just looked at him shook my head and told him not my problem he was shocked. So I sold my home ,my furniture,my husband's truck and 3 months after his death I left Florida and the Life I loved but no longer had. The one true friend that I could tell everything to was gone and nothing mattered to me.....

Dear Janice - I am at 1 and a half months of losing the love of my life. Is it easier for me that no one called during his illness, or his death or after? I don't know. There is only one person in our large group of "friends" who has called, come over, or done anything at all during this 8 month period between his diagnosis and his death. Sometimes I am angry, but most of the time I don't have the strength to even be bothered being upset about it. I understand that people don't know what to say. But - ignore me? Sure, ok. I too am grateful for the people here and by reading this post (once again) know I am not alone in what I am going through. I know now that I will pack up and move away to be near my sister as soon as possible and not even look back. Without my love there is nothing left of this life to look back on. Like Susieb said "The one true friend that I could tell everything to was gone and nothing mattered to me....." Me too. Be warm and safe and know that the people here are very kind and understanding and caring. I am so thankful I found myself here. Thank you everyone, and thank you Janice for articulating yet another sad and hurtful thing that many of us are going through. Hugs. Christine
