This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
My husband passed in March. Some days I almost think I can handle it. I kind of feel normal again, but then somethig happens that throws me back. I went swimming for the first time since my husband died. We used to have our own private swimming pool and go swimming together every day. I miss that. So now I'm back hurting and missing him so much. I wonder if this will ever stop and if I will ever feel normal again for more than a day at a time.

My husband also passed in March. Hang in there, all of the new "firsts" hurt, but they get better with repetition.

Hi Sandy. What began as a reply to your post became a new journal post I wrote tonight entitled, "Triggers". I hope it helps, even if in the tiniest of ways. Remember to hang in there (like a Garfield hanging on the screen door for dear life :) ~~~ Scottie

Talk about "triggers"! My husband passed in late April. Last night I thought I was ready to pack up my husband's clothing and give them to the local mission. The minute I opened the closet door I started sobbing. Door went shut and that was the end of packing. It can wait until I am really ready. Hugs! Betty

Hi Sandy! There is so much good advice here! Keep posting and letting your feelings out. Time does heal, at least partially. Having people walk along side you helps. Have you been involved in any support groups, like Grief Share? My thoughts and prayers are with you!
