I just fell asleep on the couch and woke up with the baby cat I adopted from the road soon after my love died, playing around with a wire. The baby looks fine, I still didnt give him a name, have been waiting all this time - my loves body died almost a month ago - to make sure he survives. And now I wonder how much time will I have this baby cat. And the others. And my Dad. Who will be the next to go? Will it be me?... I have trying to make a will that includes the cats, since we didnt have children and I have no brothers nor sisters, but in this country this type of idea is dismissed as eccentric, and legislation is very weird. I havent given up though, I will research if there is more I can do about this.
So even though many here have rebuilt their lives, and found happiness, my experience is that, one by one, almost all are gone, and I am 42. Many have passed, but specially Mom and, less than a month ago, my love. If I were the next to go, then surely Dad would be horrible sad. If I werent, then...
It is very hard to see what would be "the best", but I guess the best is if I survive Dad, so he doesnt have to go through grieving over me.
So I wonder if anybody out there has these recurrent thoughts, and how do you "transform" them into something healthy and positive.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

You are still in the early stages of grief. Remember to take care of yourself, drink lots of water and remember to eat.
hang in there it will ger better

I think there is little to do, eventually that fear lessens but if they continue to paralyse or bother then I think a counsellor might be helpful.
