Whatever you want honey..

Anne and I loved to listen to music while just hanging out at home. However she didn't like the location of our stereo system. About 2 weeks before she past (which was July,13 2016) She wanted me to move it to another room. "Whatever you want honey." How would all us men here love to have a buck for every time we said that? LOL  Anyway we had old boxy floor speakers from the 70's. She hated them and wanted Bose shelf speakers. Again repeat after me guys.........I moved all the components and put the speakers in storage. Figuring I'd wire it all up when we bought the shelf speakers. Well two weeks past and so did she. Never got around to buying those Bose. Today about 14 months later I removed those old speakers from storage. Wired everything up and I have music in my home again. It's bittersweet as she's not here to listen to it with me. However I see it as one step closer to gaining a foothold toward something everyone else calls living. And I'm sure she will forgive me until I get around to getting those Bose. If I ever do. All I can imagine is she's looking down on me now saying. "Whatever you want honey."

Bill, I still can't listen to our favorite music yet. It's still too hard. I can listen to music that didn't mean anything special to the two of us, but I'm still too emotional to listen to the special things. I always made a lot of compilations, and we would listen to them when we traveled. I made a lot of them specifically so that we could sing along with them in the car. Had a ball doing that. We loved to sing along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and Alice Cooper, just to name a few. We also loved to 'scream' along with Linkin Park. It was silly and fun and we laughed as much as we sang, dancing in our seats and making funny faces. One special memory that I have is of us singing along to the song My Own Worst Enemy by the band Lit. Anyone passing us on the road would have thought we were crazy. I think of that song often and how much fun we had with it. I've wanted to listen to it again so many times, but just can't bring myself to do it. I know this wasn't the point of your post, but I'm glad you've found music again. I think that's an important step forward. I'm still not there yet, but I remain hopeful! <3 Anita

Anita, That was exactly the point of my post. The memories of the songs we enjoyed together mean so much more than the songs themselves. As I said. It took me 14 months to get to this point. You are at but 3 I believe. You will get there. One day at a time. (((Hug)))
