Last night Matthhew and I went to the YMCA as we often do. He always takes the "deep end test", and he always comes away disappointed. Yesterday however...he passed!!! He was so happy and I was very happy for him, in the past he would be able to do everything right it was just the treading the water that would get him every time, he would give up before it was time. Anyhow as happy as I was for him it was still a little sad...I was sad for Brian that he wasnt there to share it with him...for a moment (a brief moment) I was ready to call him and tell him. The man sitting next to me must have thought I was crazy as I wiped away my tears. When we were walking to our car Matthew said "I am so happpy I passed the test, it was so much fun in the deep end, but I am sad Daddy isnt here"...."me too" I said...but I always try and reassure him that Daddy is still with us we just cant see him...I wish that could bring both of us more comfort, maybe in time it will. CONGRATS to him and a bige WOO HOO!!! That feeling to watch them do something for the very first time is AWESOME and it never is less no matter how old they are!
I know that he felt that void and you even more. He WAS THERE cheering him on, and saying 'that's MY boy, and that's QUITE A WOMAN helping him grow"!!!
Congrats to BOTH of you knowing that you are there, that he has a hero rooting for him here as well as one from somewhere up above? HE WILL MOVE MOUNTAINS!!!
