Thank you for your kind words and I am very sorry for your loss as well. It has been helpful joining this group. As much as I hate seeing everyone’s loss, it’s also comforting to know that I’m not alone and there are people out there that completely understand how I’m feeling.
I understand your loss. I lost my wife of 18 yrs 4 weeks ago yesterday. Each day is like a fog. I was 17 and she 16 when we met, married 11 yrs later and now the best friend I ever had is gone. Unlike your husband, my wife was sick for some time so I had time with her before the inevitable took place. It does not change the lonely feelings I have. We never had kids, so take comfort that you have part of him still around. Not sure really what to say other than I understand completely. Work for me helps, but then i come home, quiet, no one to talk too. At least everyone here understands what you are going through, it has helped me. I'm 46 and she was 45 when she passed. I have had some younger clients say they are sorry for the loss, but you have a lot of life ahead. I smile and thank them and just think to myself, you have no idea what this feels like. It hits me at the most odd moments. I just miss my wife. Hugs and prayers going your way, take care of yourself. Jamie
Thank you, I too think to myself when people say “I’m sorry for your loss” you really have no idea what this is like and I know they are just being kind and I feel bad for thinking that. But they really have no idea!! And I hope they never experience it.
I am still off work, I can’t begin to imagine dealing with patients at this point. Fake smiles are truly exhausting.
I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife. I pray that we all can get through this horrific experience together. Hugs to you.
