Too often the couples I know and have known had only sour words in talking about their marriages followed by...... Never again will I ever get tangled with someone. Yet in here, you would think the whole world was blessed with a happy marriage and so, the devistated feeling when it comes to a crossroad, such as death. So, what makes the Difference?
For me, I believe it was coming from a childhood of abuse and yes, the worst kind. My husband was also verbally abused and degraded by his father and I think it taught us early in life, what really matters. Neither of us priveleged...we appeciated the smallest of kindness, gifts and love, and in that found the greatest of kindness, gifts and love in each other. It just makes me wonder if there is a connection between hard times, things like abuse, being orphaned....any of the things that are out of the box from the Donna Reed Show type of family that is supposedly NORMAL. Hopefully, this is not an innapropriate subject, but there is a dynamic in here that seems rare in the world around me.
