Ok so we are now required to do things we never did before. Move outside our comfort zone..
Last night about midnight the coyotes were out, guess they knew the weather was going to change and were looking for dinner. They were so loud and close to my goat girls in the front pasture I got scared for them. My goats, not the coyotes LOL.
Yes we have guns in the house but my husband always was the "shooter". When I train hunting dogs, I did the training he shot the birds. So guns were his thing.
Anyway this one loud coyote was in the front field and would not quit hollowing. So I opened the front door and shot off my starter pistol, a handgun looking thing that just makes a gun noise but doesn't shoot anything.
Darn coyote still wouldn't leave. So got my boots on and a jacket and a flashlight and went off coyote hunting with my starter pistol. Out into the front field I went shining the flashlight until I saw the coyotes eyes in the light and I shot him! Ok not dead but with the starter pistol, and he didn't wait around to see if the 2nd shot would connect. Walking in pitch black outside in a big open field alone sure was outside my comfort zone..
Boy I really missed Ray last night, we would have gone out together and the coyote would have been dead. Funny, some things in life just are and you don't think much about when they happen but sure miss them when things change. Miss ya Ray!

It's strange how we are able to find the strength and ability to do things we never imagined would become our responsibility.
There was a job to get done and you did it!
My coyote's are the insurance companies who are insisting that Morey is still alive and will NOT take him off my car insurance and the hospitals that still want payment when the insurance company told them they were paid in full!
Coyote's come in a different sort of packages for each of us. Handg's coyote is the darkness that holds her prisoner in her bedroom and for some of us the fear of being alone and for other's it's the coyote of grief that attacks when we least expect it and takes a stranglehold on us.
I guess when we can take the starter gun to our "coyote's" and watch them run in fear is when we can truly start to live again!!!
