Woke up this morning, Looked at the last card, from the last flowers from Greg, cried, got ready for the daycare kiddies, made homemade chocolate covered cherries with them, red velvet cupcakes, and kiddie valentines Day cards to their parents. Two of them brought me chocolate and I ate it!!!

Made chicken tortellini soup for dinner but ate mor chocolate and a glass of red wine!!!

Stepsons are coming tomorrow so the chocolate covered strawberries will be when they are here. and I'll eat them too! lol And then i wont eat for a week!! Ah Well.

I went to the cemetary to see my husband. I along with my daughter brought our roses. Mine red, hers purple for pancreatic cancer. He always bought me 2 dozen roses. Just passed my 6 month anniversary on the 11th when Whitney passed. I hope her angelic voice is singing to all of our husbands/wives. xoxoxoxoxoxoxox

I took off work early, dropped by the florist, and picked up three long-stemmed red roses. I went to the cemetery for the first time since Joe was buried and put two roses on his grave (one from me and one from his sister in Georgia) and I put one on my mom's grave which is right next to Joe. My mom died a few months before Joe was diagnosed with cancer. Then I went to see my son's family and granddaughters with gifts of "hello, Kitty" shirts, candy, and lots of hugs and kisses. I then watched my granddaughter at her ballet class (she is 5) and took pictures and laughed with my son. All in all an emotional day with extremes on both sides. It's a wonder we can function with all these raw emotions and swings. I'm thankful for the good things and that love never ends. Darleen

Talked to my daughter & grandson. I worked, went to the dentist, now sitting back having a Chocolate Martini and a Box of Godiva (gift from my big brother).
For me, every day was a day of love....Valentines Day was no different...just another day on the calendar. Hope all had a good day.

Today Joe bought me some red roses. As usual, he asked if I had my checkbook to pay for them. LOL! I took the roses to the church where I had an appointment for my portrait for the church directory. The roses in the pictures they took were gorgeous! Tonight, I met with a group of women for the usual monthly get-together for fellowship. One of the ladies had gone all out - had a long table docorated with all things Valentine. Food of all descriptions, lots of red, pink decorations. No men, just us ladies. We laughed, ate, had a great time. In spite of sadness, I found lots to be happy about today and I know that makes Joe happy.

My 12 year old son ran into my bedroom this morning and excitedly presented me with the most beautiful card and my favourite chocolates. It is the 20th anniversary of the day my husband proposed to me.

I did the usual: Housework, schoolwork, some Chinese, taking care iof animals and went to a nursing home where a friend is convalecsing from surgey to meet with friends and cheer her. I missed my darling, but that's everyday.

Bought a dozen of red roses, went to his grave, placed them into the vase near his headstone. After sobbing loud, kissed his headstone picture, talked to him and went home. It is over three years, this is my fourth Valentine's without him, but I needed to visit his grave today, to tell him how much I still love him.
I moved on with my life, but my soul fibers are still attached to him, and maybe will never be detached. It doesn't mean I am not living, and functioning fully, socializing, working, but he is still a part of me. My thoughts and memories of him are sweet, and not painful as they were at the beginning of my widowhood.
But he is still my Valentine.
