Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Well, you are so right! But at the retirement home where I work, I have talked with so many of the widows, yes widows! Most of the people who reside there are women and each one has said that they lost their husbands young, 40's & 50's.
It seems that for some reason, women are living longer, but the men are being taken young. I often ask just what God is doing with all of our men??
Peace to you...Love, Mo
I have been working with computers all my life so I am very comfortable in using DS. Most of my friends think that I am nuts. In most cases their grand children are much more literate than they are. Some friends have 7 year old grand children that they go to for help with their computers.
My father lived to be almost eighty and he ate bacon and eggs for breakfast daily and ate all the gravies and fatty foods, etc. He also enjoyed his beer, and it wasn't "lite beer". I'm sure his cholesterol levels were pretty high, but what eventually got him was Parkinson's.
I think too, that our fast-paced lifestyles have alot to do with our lack of longevity. It raises blood pressure and that is hard on the arteries. No matter who you talk to nowdays, they will tell you they are under stress whether it be from the job, from raising children or taking care of ailing parents--or trying to do all three plus take care of the homefront. It makes you wonder why we do this to ourselves and each other! We may not be able to avoid it all but we can reduce our stress to more managable levels.
