Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Hugs,

This group is new to me, but I look forward to attending their gatherings and meeting other widows and encouraging each other.
I will be home before midnight, I am sure. I plan to chat with a special friend as we bring in the New Year.
Bob and I used to have friends over... and we'd play games or cards... or play Bunco with larger groups of friends. Now, that is all changed.
I wish everyone here a New Year filled with God's love and hope for a brighter future.
Hugs, Linda
I actually would have liked company - but have only realised that in the last hour or so - so it is too late to arrange anything- especially considering I live an hour + away from the city where my friends live.
As such I will spend the first ever New Year in my whole life by myself. It has been a year of firsts - so why should this be any different.

This year I am going out on a limb. One of my friends is in a band and invited me to thier New Years Eve gig. Afterwards the whole band is staying at a beach house (lots of rooms and beds). I have no idea what to expect but if you never take a chance...

Some widowers and widows, we will go to a hotel dance. We all know we are not with the ones we want to be with.
We are determined to start the New Year with some hope, maybe just for some sanity.

Tonight I am making myself a special dinner, perhaps a glass of wine, a good book and bed when I feel like it. I don't care if it's 7:30 pm... I'm doing what I feel like doing; nothing less, nothing more.
I can't say 2010 was the worse year of my life because the first 8 months Jim was alive and healthy and happy and here with me. The worse thing in my life happened in 2010, Jim died.
I just want this whole holiday thing to be over. Done. Fini.
