This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I didn't wear a ring when we were first married. I had seen a
soldier lose a finger on some equipment many years ago as
a young man and had an aversion to rings.
However, my wife and I renewed our wedding vows in 2004
and I volunteered to finally wear a ring. She slipped it on my
finger and I told her I would never take it off. I still remember
that beautiful smile as she looked up at me and slid it on my
finger and said, " I'll love you forever. ".
So, it has been 9 months tomorrow and I sill wear the ring
and have left instructions it is to stay on when it is my time
to go.
There are times when I am thinking of her ( virtually all day
every day ) and I roll the ring on my finger. It is a truly
valued reminder of her and all the love I enjoyed. It has
been there since the moment she placed it on my finger.
Blessings -

Ken put it on my finger April 28th 1973 and there it stays. I am still and will always be married to him. I hate yes using that word I so dislike hate having to put widow. I just want to scream I'm married.
I understand your younger and eventually you may find a new love not to replace but to add. I will not.
