Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary. It would have been our 1st. Supposed to be the first of many. I spent the day with him at his grave. We are 27 my husband and I. I guess he will always be 27. I laid on the ground next to him. In the spot where I will someday be. I didn't know what else to do on our day. Didn't know where else to be. He has been gone 58 days. I begged him to just come home. I know he can't but I wonder why not. None of this seems real anyways so why can't he just come home. I think of where we were a year ago. What I would give to just go back.

so sorry for your loss. I went to my husbands grave this morning, I too wished that he would come home, and I know he can't, I wouldn't want him to continue the suffering of his life so I had to leave in tears alone until God brings me to him.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. I hope you have family members that can surround you and just be there for you. We, on this board are here to listen whenever you need to chat.

My heart breaks for you...there are no words for your pain. My husband has been gone for 10 months already but I still wish he would come home. I don't think I'll ever stop wishing that. We were married for 6 years. We were suppose to grow old together, we promised we will never leave each other no matter what. Every time I feel despair and loneliness overwhelm me I remember part of Tennyson's poem which he wrote after a dear friend passed away:

I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

We are blessed and cursed at the same time. Blessed for having found love but cursed for losing it so soon.

It is a curse isn't it. Everyone talks about the fairytale but no one tells you what comes next after it's been ripped away from you.
