When I checked back with DS, I  was surprised to see so little activity on Hopeful Hearts as well as Widows and Widowers.  I suppose other sites are out there on the Web, but DS was critical to my healing.  It was the first community I found that made it comfortable for me to share my struggles.


I truly hope that others will take the opportunity to use these important resources.  The gesture of sharing as well as responding can make an enormous difference in our journey.


May you discover those on DS who are looking for ways to have a peaceful and successful future after loss.  We all are at different milestones, and that's the very reason we need one another. Blessings to you. TJ

I come on here now and then for strength to carry through. This is the only site i feel a connection.

When my husband died, we were in the midst of building a house. We moved in with many things yet to complete. He died and I spent the next year finding contractors to complete it. I believe I subconsciously delayed normal grieving. When the house was finished, I took a serious look at my life. One evening I searched the Web for a site in which I could remain anonymous and seek advice from others on the same journey. DS was a lifeline at a very important stage of my life. I'm so thankful for all the kindness and wise words of support others so graciously offered. I sincerely hope this site will continue with those who find in one another comfort, empathy, wise counsel, and the willingness to share their experiences. Survivors of loss desperately need understanding and helpful discussions from others traveling the path of loss. Blessings to you. TJ

I keep logging on everyday hoping to see activity I too am checking both groups Wendy and I joined Hopeful Hearts 9 years ago just before I moved to Australia . I will keep logging in to both .I hope this support group becomes as good as it use to be

I lost my husband of 46 years to cancer. Im blessed to have loved him that long and the 3 children we had & the 5 grandchildren. He was only 68 & still loved his job. Semi- retirement allowed us to grab little vacations together. We enjoyed each others company and physicality. I miss connecting with him. His phone calls, His touch. But I did have that in my life and it shaped me. Being a strong individual is the challenge now. He will always be my husband and no one can replace him. Life is still a gift that I open each day but as a widow. Thank God for our supportive daughter who has taken me into her home during the flu pandemic. Loneliness is unhealthy for anyone

My plan is to be as active as possible and stay involved. I got the Dailystrength bug because I was talking to Gerry on another site and here I am.
I mentioned to Martha about how much the members when I was here I owe a load of things to be thankful.
I'm living in North Carolina now, moved with my daughter and soninlaw. Life is never perfect, but I am grateful for my blessings one of which is reconnecting with you and my DS (Sharecare) friends. Talk to you soon.

The words spoken about your husband created a beautiful picture of a loving marriage. What a blessing to have shared those 46 years with him, and what a blessing for your children and grandchildren to have had the privilege of sharing that loving environment.
