This site has helped us all. Thank God for it. It is challenging to find good resources for help in rural areas. I have that problem myself.

Ditto! Rural South Carolina. DS has proved to be exactly that . . . "Daily Strength" and the Widow/Widowers group are an awesome family that helps support us when in need; and offers us a chance to share the formidable grief journey. We are reminded that we are never alone, however isolated we may feel or be. I also am grateful to this group. Thank you for the reminder to have an attitude of gratitude in the midst of so much sorrow. Glad you are "making it" as best you can. Keep it moving . . . Atta girl! Hugs to you, Dayna

Same here. I was so glad to find out after a year that MAYBE I wasn't crazy and was just going through a normal grieving process!

It is indeed wonderful to find understanding and compassion when we need it. Those who aren't widowed don't usually have a clue. I think this is a great place for those who need encouragement - as long as they need it!

Me too. I think we're in the same timeframe, Nicker07 . My husband passed away July 2010. And in those early months I would have gone completely bonkers with DS.

Hi, I know exactly what you mean. Although I don't come here as often, it has been such a great place, to vent, ask advice and grow as a person. You have been here for a while, just like me Nicker. My husband died 9/8/2009. I remeber all the things you tried doing on your own and you really inspired me, that I could do it too. So thank you too, for being there.

I so agree with you. I was so glad that one of many nights when I couldn't sleep, I typed in widows and this site came up. It helped to quiet many anxious thoughts and much confusion, helping me to wade through all the emotions. I am forever grateful to all of you and I continue to pray that we will grow stronger each day.

Ditto, many a night I could not sleep, especially during the first year, I found solace and calm reading your posts and letting my heart bare to you all and you always helped me beyond words.
