A wonderfully written article and true in every sense, I fought my first loss after 40 years marriage and was deeply scarred, but those scars carried me forward to love again. Its quite amazing what torment and pain the human body can sustain. Im going through it all again and in my dreams they are both there sometimes in the same dream. Someone joked to me will it be third time lucky, at this stage of only 9 weeks I am still being hit with the storm very hard and strangely brought back more grief of my first wife who passed 7 years ago.

    Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...
