I am very excited to be able to meet everyone that helped me through the roughest time in my life and to give them a REAL HUG!!! It will also be great to talk to everyone face to face and share what we are going through as no one else understands like the DS FAMILY !!!

Something to look forward to and talk about instead of the pain we are going through!!

I only have 34 sleeps as I will be in Vegas June 19th....

LOL, all at once huh? Yeah, that is a scary thought hehe. I haven't taken going completely off the table yet, still wrestling with the idea, it's just that Berna and I used to go to Vegas a lot and i just can't picture myself being there without her. I'm so screwed up right now, i don't know if it's gonna happen, but we'll see, i may surprise y'all.

Oh, I'm excited all right! I get to meet my DS friends, celebrate retirement, have a birthday party and best of all, play mini-golf! Oh, yes....I'm excited :-)

Sal, my husband and I went to Vegas every year and I also have some fears about that, but I am going to overcome them. It would be great to meet you!

I am glad that people can go to Vegas, but I will be glad also not to see any more messages about the event. I came to this site because I needed comfort after my husband died, My personal financial situation does not allow me to travel,,Forced to sell my house now. I wish all of you well and will search for a group which supports the spirit within us.

Yeah it is getting exciting alright. I am bringing my security blanket, ( best friend since HS) ! You know Sal it is hard for me as well so I do understand being there without your dear Berna. While there I should be celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary on the 23rd. of June. That was a huge stumbling block for me. I pushed myself to book it and I think it will be fine. If I am in the dumps who better to be with than the DS family? You know how we all feel about you going but ultimately it is your decision. ( My fingers are X).

BTW when is the new updated schedule and list of people and names and #'s as well as planned events? I apologize if I missed it somehow.

Vegas is one thing that keeps me going. I am excited about meeting everyone.

I'd like to do the Grand Canyon. Never have been there. But... I don't do heat well and Nevada in June kind of worries me. There something to be said for AC.

And Sal... just do it! Seems to be that you can be down in the dumps in Florida or Nevada. Makes little difference! AND who knows in Vegas; maybe, just maybe we'll get a SMILE out of you!!!!!

Sal...Sal...Sal... I used to work for the Chamber of Commerce - so here goes, 10 reasons to go:

1. You can go to a place HOTTER than FL, and if you have curly hair, it will get straight in Vegas.

2. You will see palm trees, but I think they will be neon, with Elvis guitars hanging from them in the Chapel of LOOOOOVVVVEEE.

3. No lizards, except lounge lizards.

4. You will get hungry ahead of everyone else due to the time change, and still make the early early bird specials - just like in FL.

5. Zigfried and Roy might be able to personally throw you to the lions (?) You could go tosee Donnie and Marie? Wayne Newton? some of them are sure to make you sick (?)

6. Flat Stanley is going, and he wants to meet you. We also need another ''yOUNG'UN'' to beat at the Geezer Mini Golf Tournament with a glow in the dark KISS theme ,celebrating Loran's celebrations (?), where he will buy cake for everyone (?).

7. You will have a hotel shower, with fresh soap everyday, and extra towels when you need them ,and be able to TAKE A SHOWER - it might kill you (?)

8. We will force you into Karaoke, and you can sing sad songs.

9. You can light a luminary for your wife.

10. You will be hugged so much , that we might be able to make you stop breathing from all da hugs (?)

VEGAS BABY!!!!! It's the last place I ever wanted to go, but now I'm excited to meet all of YOUZE.

PS Sal, I know your sense of humor, and that you know we are not making light of your pain and concern, we are all there. Please accept this list in the spirit that it was written - with a deep regard for you, and for all my fellow travelers to Vegas, and all of us who are going through the pain of grief.

Sal, please try to come. I know how sad you are, but we are all sad, this is a chance for everyone to meet in person and support one another. I for one would love to meet you in person.

This is the first time I have actually been excited to do something in 18 months!
