I know Al didn't want to die but I also know he is now free of pain and walking with Jesus. Every time I think about how jealous I am that all our other friends are still together, enjoying retirement, God reminds me that he gave me 37 years with an incredible man and for that I thank Him.
It's true, Valentines Day is coming up. It's always the worst when you're single. I'm really glad I have a nice boyfriend who I can have dinner with and who will give me flowers. But there is something heartbreaking bout not being with my wife on Valentine's Day. It's such an emotionally fraught holiday, even more than Christmas. That was bad enough.
It's good that you're getting out there, finding new things to do and a part time job. It's good to stay busy within the grief, although we still feel it.
I stopped looking so hard but it still happens. He had one of those kind of faces. The man in the darn commercials on this thread looks like Morey.....now, that's disturbing.

But this is a matter of faith. There are far too many people in the world who don't believe in it. They'll agree with you to your face, just to make themselves feel compassionate (in that moment); but later they'll say that you must be having emotionally-driven delusions or something..."because everybody knows that kind of stuff doesn't really happen"...then they'll suggest that it must be "just part of the grieving process", and maybe you need "professional help".
Two months after my wife passed, that was the reaction I got from the hospital chaplain when I told him that she did not "die", because I am visited by her daily...in a spiritual way. Well you know what? Piss on him, what does he know? he has never walked in my shoes. This "man-of-the-cloth" is supposed to encourage faith, but here he is judging me for it?
Don't ever let anyone do that to you. The messages that come your way...and the strength of your faith...are between you, your husband, and God.
We are not humans having a spiritual experience...we are spirits having a human experience.
Separation is temporary...reunion is forever.
Love never dies!
