You are NOT crazy. You are so normal, we all have moments like that. My advice is just to hang on. Let yourself be as you are. There is no "perfect" way to grieve and I have done exactly what you did, too! So, let yourself cry for awhile, even a day sometimes, and you will get your footing back. You would not be normal if you didn't dry lakes of tears, in my opinion. I am at 2 yrs and I still have days when I lose it. Hang in there! Lighten up on yourself! Be good to yourself. You've been hit by a Mack truck, so don't expect not to be mangled, but it WILL get better. Give yourself some time. My thoughts are with you. I care and I DO understand what you are feeling! Hate to say this: What you are feeling and going through is very typical, and I know so tough. I agree with Kathleen you have to feel through all of what you feel - and take whatever time it takes for you to work through all of those feelings. And just believe you do need to take care of yourself. FOR YOU.

I am so sorry for the loss of your husband. What you are feeling is normal and unfortunately will happen again as you walk this painful journal. Crying is okay and an expression of how much you loved your husband. Allow yourself to cry and be gentle with yourself, Hugs Lu Ann

thank you..now I am crying because I am reading your responses. I need to smack my head on a wall somewhere I think. I want to pick up the phone and call someone but no one understands so why bother. They have no clue how this feels lik you guys do.

Yesterday for me it was a candle burning. a simple candle brought back our first phone call on a holiday, and I lost it right then and there. Never saw it coming my friend.

Everyday I get up and try my best, and I fall more times than i can count. We miss them. That's all it is. We MISS THEM.

I lost my husband to an accidental fall at our home, in which he suffered a major brain injury, coma and death in a few short weeks. Since his was considered a sudden death, because he had not been ill, I found a book and workbook called "I Was Not Ready To Say Goodbye". It was a lifesaver for me because it is directed toward families who lost someone to an accident, act of war, suicide, murder, etc. Sudden death can leave us so unbalanced and unable to cope. The book helped me so much and I recommend it. Another DS writer included it in her list of helpful books, too. Keep reading, writing and coming to DS. They all help.

It happens still for me, Annie. And I think it always will. Tears can spontaneously burst out of my eyes over a small thing. No need to smack your head upside the wall - tears are emotions coming out. When they come now, I accept them and let them come. Please be gentle on yourself - hugs, Marsha

It still happens to me. I don't beat myself up over it and neither should you. We're all human and miss our partners, they are no longer in pain, no longer available to argue, love us, or just be beside us. It's the way we're made, we love so we cry and it can be anything or nothing to bring it on. Men and women both feel the losses and we're all doing the best we can to keep those strong emotions at bay. I don't force anyone else to see them, but I do let them fall as I need them to. Hugs

Clarie..I have that book "I was not ready to say goodbye"...it is my bible right now. For anyone suffering from a sudden lose that was unexpected....it is incredible.

Add me to the crying jag. I've been pretty good for a few days then all of a sudden today I started crying and have been crying off and on for hours. Hate it but it happens.

Annie, I'm with you on this one. I've been having a really tough time with Christmas. I thought I was OK but the last few days have been
very tough. Lots of tears! Just allow yourself to feel whatever comes along, it's part of the healing process. Take care my friend. We are not crazy, Grieving is a crazy process! God bless!

No ur not crazy i do the same thing, i can taking a bath and i cry. i cry all the time. Its ok to feel the way ur feeling; thats ur way of grieving. U just keep crying it one step to healing. When i get like that i read psalms 34 and just keep repeating god give me strength over and over again.
