Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I'm at 7 months in my grief, and I already know what it is to want to talk about a loved one when no one else seems to want that. I'm glad you still read on this site, and I hope you will also start to post again. I have found immeasurable comfort in knowing that people here are always willing to listen.

2 years is a hard time, its actually worse then the first year in some ways. I am at 2 1/2 and its still very hard and still unbelievable at times. Friends & family do leave, and we are left alone again. I just hate this new life I have. I realized too late just how much I counted on my husband. I never thought he would be gone.
I don't get to talk about my husband very much. My son & DIL hardly mention him, maybe its too painful, I don't know. Sometimes I wonder.......................was he really even here?
Stick around this time, just talk about whats on your mind, we will listen. We are all in the same boat.
Hugs,
JoAnn
In ant tell you how comforting and supportive this site has been for me. No one understands like the people here. I hVe visited several sites and this is the best. My husband died from cancer 9 months ago. I miss him so and hate thinking about a lonely future ahead of me for years to come. I have no children, a few good friends and a dear older brother. I'm healthy so far, but I hate to think about when I'm not and there won't be anyone there.
I believe widows/widowers need each other. OR Maybe I should clarify, "most" widows/widowers need each other. There is a sensitivity there that cannot be found in other people. Sometimes I think this DS site is better than live support groups. It's open 24 hrs, 7 days a week.
