I finally agreed to met Joe for coffee 12 years ago today. We met online and I pushed him off for six months before finally agreeing to meet him.
I remember his leather jacket and ponytail and the gold chains around his neck. He was so tall and big and I felt a bit afraid, but when he started to talk, I knew he was the one.
Every year we celebrated this day by going to AC or Foxwoods for two days and I so miss that time. Last year I was sick at home with lyme and he forgot the day. About ten oclock that night the bell rang. It was Joes best friend walking in with a dozen roses. He handed them to me and said congratulations and love from Joe and laughed. Joe had called him quick and asked him to pick the flowers up on his way home from work and drop them off. I can still hear joes silly laugh.
I bought him a pretty crystal "valentine" with a nice saying on it and will bring it to the cemetery today to put on his grave. I need to do something to make the day feel special to me. Last night I said happy anniversary to him before I went to sleep. I opened his night table (which I never go in) and there was an envelope from the franklin mint. I opened it and there was a gold stamp with a hand holding a bouquet of flowers and it said "I love you" on it. I have never seen this before at all. Sounds silly, but I am taking it that this is my bouquet for this year and Joes way of saying he remembered the day this year!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I am very sure that is flowers from Heaven and ones that will last for all the anniversaries.

what a beautiful story, of love where you least expected it, and that it truly does live on.
I think you know this, but I met Greg online too. Was SO nervous about meeting him, and swore this was 'just gonna be coffee". In walked this man, kinda conservative, and so not my type! lol One LOOK into those blue eyes and it was ALL OVER AND ALL IN for me, although we didn't 'declare" it for a year officially!!! We also celebrated the day we met every year, except the last as he was in surgery. Like you, we didn't get to get to that one year anniversary of legal'Marriage, but we were married just the same from the time we met. The same for you i know.They are the best of memories. this post, the beauty of it, has brought back SO MANY memories!!! beautiful ones!
Finding those 'flowers' and the I love you when you did was INDEED such a beautiful sign of his love that is still with you. and always willl be!
