Yesterday was 2 weeks without my husband. Since his passing each day I would wake about 4am, lay in bed think of Ray and cry. Then I'd get up say "good morning" to his picture and cry. Then I'd get on the computer to DS read posts and cry. I would ask God why, be angry at myself that I didn't do more, wasn't more supportive...told my husband how much I loved him and how much he means to me. My eyes hurt from so much crying.
Last night I was driving home, I teach doggie classes, my mind wandered to Ray and I started to cry. I pushed myself to think about something else.
Ray is gone, I am alone, we deeply loved each other, were together most all day every day. I miss our routine, our togetherness, his body, our closeness. But I have to push my mind away from crying and feeling so horrible. I have to force myself to be different to live on.
I was proud of myself, went to the office where my husband did our Investments. I didn't cry this time, felt like it a few times, Ray loved to "play" with stocks and such, they make my head spin. Talked logically
and came out feeling like I accomplished something.
So today I am going to try and move forward and not be so emotional. I still wish God would take me to be with Ray. but that's not for me to decide. I need to find joy in things I liked to do, the farm here was my thing living on the lake was Ray's thing. So critters need to be taken care of, hay moved things I like to do. Goat kids will start to arrive in MARCH. Busy time.
I think I just need to hold Ray dear in my heart. Make him proud and miss him but respectfully to myself. Hope I can pull it off..

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Hugs,
Val.
I hate this journey too. It's so painful, this should have never happened. They were supposed to get well and stay with us, I know, I know! We were going to grow old together. It's not meant to be. Why? No one knows why. We may never know why. But, we must carry on and show our men and ourselves that we can do it!
I'm here with you and Dayna and Val, Sharon, Martha and Sue and the rest of us......we're here with you. We're all doing this together.
Ray wouldn't want you to give up. He'd want you to show your love for him through your strength of surviving.
I'm here with you, Ramar.....I'm not going anywhere.
Warmly,
Roz
Sending hugs. I am so sorry we are all going through this. I took time off work to spend 24/7 with my husband and never left his side from last October through January 13 - the date he passed away. I did exactly the same thing as you. I would wake up in the middle of the night, check on himwake up in the morning and kiss him on his cheek when he felt so bad. Yet, he would still give me a little wave with his hand in the air. How I miss him so. I simply lived in the present - I did not want to face the harsh reality of what actually was happening. Until now.
The last couple of weeks when we moved from the home to hospice, we still watched Cramer on CNBC (I noticed you said your husband liked to follow stocks). My husband (who could no longer speak) wrote me a note that said "I am going to miss this - I love trading".
What do we do though? We can't curl up and be miserable. How would that make them feel. Actually, that is how I feel right now. Here in town, tomorrowthere is a Garden ExpoI am going to that. We have a back garden here in the Midwest that is totally a mess, and I have to start from scratch. I am going to force myself to go there. Get tips and work on that yard. Better than staying home. I also found on the website "grief share" a local support group that I'm going to attend this weekend. Never done anything like that in my life.
Guess, what I'm trying to say. I am making a mission to make a "to-do" list. Otherwise, I will isolate myself.
You can pull it off and you know you are already making him so proud
