Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have been working on, getting a random smile out here and there. Oddly enough it does feel good for a change.
Love and Hugs,
Martha
I understand why people are slow to laugh again. It is kind of like after 9/11/2001 in the US - comedians did not know what to do. It was difficult to joke about anything for a while. But that changed...
When you look at what is funny - it's a change in perspective. Something is so sad that it's funny when you are able to look at it in a certain way. The thing is still sad, but it's the way that you look at it that makes it funny.
So if you can see the change in perspective, then you are coming around to retrieving yourself :)
I thought of posting a few jokes here to show what I mean, but not everyone's humor is the same. But if you think about something that is funny to you, it's usually something bad that gets looked at differently :).
{ Just look at some of those Three Stooges movies - that stuff is all painful, but we will split our sides laughing at them. }
Again, laughter is good for the soul, so I hope we all have some laughter each day :)
