Time Continues

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was yet another milestone, my oldest son turned 8 yesterday. He actually enjoyed his day. I was glad that he was smiling. I really missed his dad being there.

We always worked to make both of the boys feel special on their day, and it wasn't the same, but it was ok. It's amazing how time is steadily moving forward at such a rapid speed.

I am just working to make small steps in moving forward through our grief. I am thankful that my son felt like his dad was laughing (happy) that it was his special day.

Yes, time keeps marching forward! I am glad that your son had a HAPPY birthday. Sounds like you did okay, too.

We all need to be proud of ourselves when we survive these milestones. I am finding that not all the "firsts" bring me down, but they are definitely different.

It is hard for the kids to not have their parent with them on such a happy occasion, my daughter just had her birthday and she was not the usual happy, crazy girl she usually was when her birthday came around when her Daddy was here. So hard to see that and hard for us to go through also. I am glad your son got some happiness on his birthday. We will keep fighting and one day it will be better.

im really glad he had a nice day. my sons 2nd birthday was a week after his daddy passed away. it was very hard to smile and be happy, but you do it for your kids. glad you made it special for him.

So glad you made it through your son's birthday. I bet you cried that night when you were alone but I think we should be allowed to do that. I'm sure your husband was watching over you and your sons & helping you the best he can. Be proud, you made it through another day & hopefully each day will be somewhat better, even if we know the days ahead will never be the same.
