Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Allow yourself time, it will get better, I am sure your wife would want you to have a future, life is for living.
Two years after loosing my husband of 42 years, I met a fellow, we are starting our 4th year together, fabulous loving relationship.
My 2 sons both tell me Dad would be so pleased to know how happy you are and that you have R in your life.
I never in my wildest dreams thought I would meet anyone who loved me as much as my late husband did........ However I have.
Be kind to yourself
You will see brightness once again.....
I wish there were words that could truly help. The greater the love lost the greater the pain. I felt the same as you when my late wife passed in 2016. Try and build a healthy routine, eat well, exercise, do chores, take walks, reach out to family and other widows/widowers and talk with a grief counselor. Let yourself cry… personally I tried to limit my crying to 15 minute spurts. Otherwise for me it was too much to bare. Journal, talk to her. We lose our partner in the flesh but our relationship continues in our heart. Yes not fair and very hard. I know. Know she would want the very best for you. I realize words are little consolation.
Where ever you find healthy support lean towards it.
One day at a time. Sometimes one hour at a time… sometimes one minute at a time. If you find a light shining towards you; move towards it and have a look.
Compassion starts with self compassion. Just know you are not alone. Bun Bun’s words are very true.
