I have seen many conversations on being a widow, single or still married. The rings on, off or moved etc. I have agreed with many, seen both sides and thought how I might think, feel or react. Knowing it is an individual journey we must take for ourselves. The other evening I popped into the grocery store get pork chops (had a craving) and someone I had not seen in years stopped me and was talking about Wayne...I don't remember what he said but I heard myself say I am still his wife. He looked shocked when I said that but at that moment I realized, at least at this stage of my grief, I am still married! Yes, til death do us part is physically on this earth, but in my heart I am still married to Wayne and always will be. Love and Hugs-Jewley

My husband passed away last July and I wore my wedding ring until the inflammation from carpal tunnel made my fingers swell. I said I would never remove my ring. But sometimes it is out of your control. I now wear my husband's wedding band on my third finger, left hand and his watch on my wrist and I am okay with it. Even if I am able to wear my ring, I have gotten use to not wearing it. Everything happens for a reason.

Thank you so much for your kind words...love and honor...we have pain and sorrow and loneliness right now in great measure...but also all the years of love and respect and honor shared together with those we love and the memories of them and those times to sustain us now as we grieve...thank you for understanding...peace and comfort to you..you have brought them to me today.

I feel just like you. I'm still wearing my wedding rings. I can't imagine saying that he's not my husband. Apart for now but together again some day is what will keep me going. Miss him terribly!
