Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I understand. You think you're feeling better, but then WHAM! the grief hits again, and it hits hard!
I'm nearing 10 months, and it still hurts like hell.
Grief is the price we pay for love.
Hugs,
Janie
Frank and I both grew up in Christian homes and were taught to believe in God and that faith in Him would be our key to eternal life. So we prayed daily, and I read him scripture daily. We asked for healing, if it was God's will. The Lord's prayer says "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..." So, it was very hard when Frank died, 8 mo. after our 50th anniv. However, it was a very peaceful passing at our home and I believe that he is in heaven. I know that a 50-yr. marriage was a great blessing. So many members here have lost their spouses in their 40s and 50s.
I hope that your better days will soon outnumber your bad ones - but to me the first year was very hard. After the first anniv. I gradually began to feel better; not everyone feels the same. I am thankful for all the blessings I have and that I believe in eternal life with God.
Wishing you peace,
Doye
For him, I would.
I hope your hearts heal soon, but I know it's a while away.
please take care and write me anytime.
oh, by the way my name is Letty.
pleasant dreams to you all.
My Don was a wonderful man too. May the Lord comfort you. Kim
I am so sorry for your loss and pain. Your words describe so many of the feelings I have had this past week and I hate cancer so much ..... It has taken my husband and his hopes and dreams and it has taken the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with ......
I am so thankful I have all of this group to lean on - I feel lost right now and all of the kind words and all of the wisdom of our DS leaders bring me comfort and hope for the future.
Know that we all care and will support you in your journey down this so unfair path.
Patricia
Cancer stole my husband too. I won't ever do this again either, I could not go thru this terrible pain and sadness again....not for anything.

I would be so proud if he could be my Angel. My 7 year old niece tells me, Uncle Don is an Angel now, Aunt Letty. She writes me letters telling me it's okay to cry, that she cries to for Uncle Don. So I have given her some personal belongings of my husband and myself and she is so grateful she writes and says I dropped a tear on this letter. See, here it is, and she makes an arrow towards it. My 7 year old incredible niece. She says, ever since Uncle Don passed I have become this way.
Unbelievable. She gets it better than some adults.
So thanks again for your support.
thanks to all of you.
