This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Just before I read this, I was admonishing myself for sitting here so long this morning, beds need making, a few chores need doing and I haven't had the strength today, like so many days where I just pushed through and pushed everything down. I was just about to log off and I decided to read one post, and I saw yours.
I am crying and that's ok. It has to be. I have not the strength to go to the water park right now with the four of them. I just don't. Maybe later, maybe after I cry. Maybe after I let this out.
Thank you for sharing this. It touched me and I needed this today, in this moment in a way I have never before.
God Bless
Cindy
Now, 7 years later, I see the things I was spared, yet, I feel still no greater good from my loss. I have learned to be grateful for another life, another chance to be happy, but the loss is still there.
It is SO important to let the tears and pain out. It's so important NOT to bury it. If you don't deal with the reality of today you won't have a tomorrow to live. I still love my husband, Don. I still wish he was here with me. I Still think that it's not fair. But I also know that I am blessed to have a man like Artie who loves me and cherishes me to spend my remaining years with.
You, with small children, need to take the time to grieve your loss, or you will cheat your children of the whole mother they deserve. Sorry for the rant. I just go crazy when people try to cheat themselves of living through this process. The harm that is done avoiding grief will come up and destroy you. This is not directed at anyone in particular. It's just a warning to take care of you. I'm sorry. Sharon
Love,
Cindy
