Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

Just kidding, I'm gonna catch flack for that one. But yeah, when you're an outsider to the issues those in our circumstance have to contend with it's easy to bundle the two groups together. I think that maybe you need to talk to someone in the church, maybe indicate that widows have entirely different issues. It is possible that they need to group the two together because in your area there may not be enough of one or both groups to have serperate support groups.
God Bless, Sal.
I LOVED your analogies! Maybe you should bring it up JUST that way to the head of this chapter greif group, and maybe they could understand then/
That's the BEST explanation I HAVE EVER HEARD on that comparison!!!
DOUBLE LIKE!!! :-)

I think they should have gave me that chose.
You can only "choose" a divorce, if you are the one who ends it, but you do not have a choice, if the other chooses to end it.
However, think of it this way...
If the reason they are combined, is due to the inability to have 2 separate ones ...
Is it better to combine the 2 groups, or is it better to have no support group for either side?
It could also be, it started out as a group for one or the other, and someone joined having found the closest choice. So instead of turning the other person away, they welcomed and expanded the view of their group.

I sure hope that somebody set that church straight about it!
