I just wrote the greatest piece ever about the Phoenix and The Wall. A masterpiece, if I don't mind saying myself. But when I hit the post button, it got eaten somewhere in cyberspace. So you've all been spared. But I got my thoughts dealt with. I'll give you the short version. The Wall is the one and the same Grief Wall we all must climb to reach our Phoenix, a new life built on the ashes of what came before. So many good analogies flowed from my fingers. I concluded with the realization that we are all tethered together in this climb up our one and only Grief Wall. Some are higher, some are lower, some just beginning, and some just about to reach the top of this Wall. If you've seen Game of Thrones, you will have an idea of just how big and tall and monstruous this Grief Wall is. And it is a slow climb. And there are storms that hit while we are climbing this Wall. And some of us won't listen and go too fast, and we slip and slide down a ways. But we keep each other out of the abyss because it is our rope one to another that holds us and stops our fall. Oh, I guess the Wall part in the title might have had something to do with listening to Pink Floyd The Wall album when I began the writing the piece that none of us will read. I've had my best weekend ever in my nearly 2 year climb up this stupid Wall. And my grief that's been rising up just under my skin for the past month or so never reared its ugly head today. A good day today spent with a new friend. Happy Easter Juanita. I know it was your favorite holiday, and the last holiday I spent with you. Your last egg hunt. Your last walk outside other than to the doctor. But then, Easter is all about new birth. Hey, I wonder if wearing a jet pack will help me with this climb up the Grief Wall. You know, like that old masterpiece, Lost in Space. Danger Will Robinson! Danger! Remember, slow and steady wins the race. All any of us have to do is just keep climbing our Grief Wall. And eventually, we'll reach our Phoenix if we so desire. ~~~ ScottieĀ
