Yesterday was the 9th month anniversary of my husbands death. He died of bladder cancer. Since his death it has been hard for me to go on with life. I am sure all of you can relate to that.

My medical doctor is on the Board of Directors for one of our local Hospice Agencies. Although Nick did not live long enough to go on Hospice, my doctor requested one of the Hospice counselors come to my home and help me through the intense pain and sometimes suicidal emotions I was having.

My counselor's name in Tamara. She is a wonderful giving person who is non-judgmental and a true ray of sunshine and hope. Although I broke away form the church that is predominate in our area and she is a very active member and believer she has never been critical of me. She has been loving, caring and helpful. We were planning to start a social support group for widows and widowers after the first of the year. Our area has nothing but a site called "Dating For Sexy Seniors". The title alone turned me stone cold. There is a huge need for our many widows & widowers to associate with others who are going through the similar pain of loss without the dating issue coming up. Now here is the irony of it all.

Tamara's husband ow has bladder cancer. The same thing that my husband died of. Because of my experiences with poor medical care for my husband she insisted on a boy scan. She called me this morning with the bad news that the scan showed several spots on his lungs. They do not know if they are cancerous or "nodules" of some sort. The cancer in his bladder is a sure thing.

It is so ironic that the wonderful person who has been so generous with her caring for others is now faced with the same type of cancer that Nick died of. Tamara naturally is so frightened. I can remember the sheer terror Nick & felt when we learned of his condition. My heart breaks for her.

For those of you who have faith and trust in God or a Higher Power, could you please say a little prayer for her? For those of you who question whether there is a God, could you please mentally send her as much good energy as you can?

She is a wonderful woman who cares and helps many people. I cannot think of anything else I can do for her and her husband other than to ask al of you wonderful people who read this to please pray in her behalf.
