The difference in 1 year

A year can really make a difference in a person's life. This time last year, I didn't realize how drastic a change my life would take. My husband was alive during the day, and by late that night, he was gone.

Everyone says time heals, and in some aspects it does and in other ways I'm not so sure. The hurt feels like it is cutting my heart in two at times, and other days it's somewhat tolerable. I miss my best friend so much, and I wish that he was here to give me a hug. It's not fair that he had to leave the boys and I behind. I hate this feeling of loneliness.

I feel like screaming and shouting, but then I can't do that at work...but I can't seem to stop the tears. They seem to flow on their own, even though I'm trying to hold them back.

I miss you Earnest.

I know exactly how your feel. I had such a terrible day yesterday I cried my way through it. I at at almost 3 yrs and its killing me. Time helps in some ways and hurt more in others.

Screaming, shouting & crying won't bring him back or mine would have been here already.

I think we have a long way to go before we are feeling better .

And, it makes it so hard to get through the mundane days. You try to endure the pain and the missing for what? Another day of the same.


I don't care where I cry anymore - car, home, work, store.

The one person who could make me feel better will never be here again.

I'm so sorry you are in pain. Time heals some things but I think the losses we have had aren't helped a lot by time. At least I haven't seen it yet. I lost my wife almost 2 years ago and still have feelings as you do. As others have said here its like being on a rollercoaster, but dropping more than rising.

I totally understand how you feel. My heart aches all the time!!! Yesterday, I cried a lot because I miss Art so much!!!! I miss him every moment of every day and am not sure how I will go on without him by my side! I feel so lonely. I find it hard to believe that 30 years flew by so fast. I knew when I starting seeing Art back in 1983 that the chances were pretty good that he would pass on before me as there is a 16 year age difference. He was 73 when the cancer took him. He was my soul mate!!! I try to remind myself that I was blessed to have spent that time with him but it does not take away the pain. I hope you able to have some peaceful days!!!

I know how you feel. I have felt/feel like that the last 9 months. I think this time last year we were making the decision to close our business and sell our building. We were going to buy a small home in small town American. plant a garden and take life easy. Well, all of that has happened(except garden& take life easy) and I've done it alone. I have screamed, shouted, cursed God and everyone else and cried until I thought I would dry up and blow away. I can see the difference in me now, compared to first few weeks after his death. I feel like my heart is broken and will never heal. I miss him unbearably. This thing about closure and time heals....I'm not so sure about all that. Many hugs coming your way....Colleen
