I'm such a mess, Sal.
The 60's music is some of my favorite, but it also reminds me of his stories of his crazy college days and I get a laugh, but it was a little before my time (he was 13 years older than I). Now I just tune in to 70's soft rock most of the time, but I've gotten really good at flipping channels to avoid certain songs.
We will all ROCK ON some day soon!!
Hugs, Cathy
I love listening to those CDs but have to skip over a lot of songs some days. Our daughter likes to listen to them as well. The other day she said she knew how much Dad loved me because all of his CDs were about love.
We also played them at the funeral home and a number of people commented on the music.
But I am finding that I'm starting to tap my foot now to a tune...as long as it's not connected to him...I can listen to Asleep and the Wheel and music that is upbeat. Still not able to touch those songs that move my heart to tears and send me through a box of kleenex, but I know that will change. The music is in me, I can't deny it, and he wouldn't want me to either. So now, when I find myself singing along in the car or waking up with some crazy song I can't shake folowing me around all day, I can smile and know that it's okay...it's me...I can't help it, that he is grinning at me somewhere, and I think that is one of the things that is gonna help me through to a side of this nightmare where I can breathe again. Thanks for listening to my ramblings..
