Regardless, not having those calls everyday is a very hard thing to get used to. It took a long time before I stopped automatically dialing his number when I picked up the phone. Even though it's been two years, not long ago I unconsciously dialed his phone number instead of my daughters. A girl answered and I was confused because it wasn't my daughter's voice, I looked at the caller ID and realized that I had dialed my husbands number by mistake or rather out of habit. I was quite stunned and taken back but managed to get the words out, "oh, I'm sorry...wrong number." That stung quite a bit to know that the number is in use once again with someone else living their life at the other end. Life does go on though doesn't it?
That was a tough one.
