I to am so grateful to this site. Like as been said so many times, Until you go through the loss of the love of your life, you have no idea....
Very few are prepared for the pain & agony that one experiences.

Today is my birthday & this Is the first time in 38yrs that I have not celebrated it with Larry. I have to think of all the wonderful times we spent together or I would fall apart & I can't do that. Thanks everyone for being here for each other........

I am so sorry that you are celebrating without him. I know how hard that is. My birthday was in April, and it was the first without him. I did not want anyone saying that traditional birthday statement, so I will not say it to you....

I agree that this site is a lifesaver is so many ways. Just being able to write down our thoughts and share them with people is so important. To Joanne who is having a birthday -- a wise woman on this site told me on my first birthday without my wonderful husband that I might want to look for "gifts" that mysteriously happen on that day, and might want to see them as gifts from my husband. When I looked at my day that way -- I got several gifts, and I didn't feel completely alone.

JoAnn, I hope you have the best birthday possible. I have 1 week until my first without Mary. I just joined here yesterday, and have already had warm feelings given to me by others. I think I will be very comfortable here.

Birthday wishes to everyone having a "B" Day......Morey's Birthday is Sept. 7th and mine is Sept. 21st. We used to love September and we'd have so much fun "one-upping" each other.

I always look forward to September and for some strange reason don't feel sad, depressed or blue about it. I don't understand why I still love it........but, I do!

As hard as it was to celebrate without my Love, I did spent
it together with my twin-sister for the first in years. We have
always lived far apart, but now that we live closer together
it was a very special day !!!

Being heard and understood makes all the difference. I am also very thankful for this community.

My husband passed away March 19 of this year...March 21st I was desperately searching for support groups...and I found several, but joined only two...DS and Widownet. And I, too, am very thankful and blessed that I found all of you...at the same time, my heart breaks for all of you, as I know your pain.

I too am very grateful for this site...I am rather certain if not for here I would still be stuck in the dark hole of denial and fear....or even worse..it's because of so many of you that I keep moving forward...it's like our two hands have a purpose...one for holding on and one for someone else to hold on ..
