It IS amazing what we can do when we HAVE to, isn't it!! My husband died going on 10 years ago, and I can't tell you the things that I've either had to repair or "put in" all by myself. I've repaired lamps that I didn't want to toss out, I've fixed vacuum cleaners, I've done more things than I can even remember.

Yeah, when we have to we come thru. Be careful with that heater -- they're one of the leading causes of fires in the winter time. God bless. Hugs, Lee

Good for you!! Leeall is right. My husband will be gone 3 years on January 4 and everyone around me tells me how impressed they are at what I've been able to accomplish since he's been gone. Oh, I didn't always want to do what I had to learn to do at first but as time goes by it's getting to be a natural thing. My biggest thing yet though was that I just returned from a trip to Tennessee to see the birth of my 7th grandbaby and 3rd grandson. I had to drive over 500 miles one way to get there and was terrified at the thought of it because whenever we went on trips before my husband did all the driving. But I did it and I can now add driving long distances to my list of things I've learned to do since he's been gone. We just have to believe in ourselves!

When you don't have a choice, it's amazing what you can accomplish. For me, the biggest accomplishment is working the electronics. I never thought I could manage all those wires... but I have.

My first driving trip of 5 1/2 hours to my daughters house was scarey for me. I had driven the trip a few times without Larry, but the first time I went up there after he had died...I cried the entire trip up there..because I knew if I broke down he would not be here to rescue me. He wasnt here calling me at least 2-3 times to see where I was. It was such a sad trip. I have made the trip again and did fine. Yes there are things I get done without him now...but I sure dont like it...

I have to say Good for you too! Like with JudiB my husband did all the driving. Hes been gone a month now and today I was forced to find my way to another town...I was so proud that I didnt have an anxiety attack and found my destination like a pro!

We find the strength and determination when we must. It is an effort most times but one that is met with rewards. I have yet to tackle the electric drill, hoping I won't have to. There are many decisions I have made without input and they have all turned out well. We can do it....

I've started assembling things. I could never do that before. My husband did all that, and before that my mom.

We can do more than we thought. Had our little boat taken out of the water, clean it up, put secured the canvas and bungy corded it all around. Winterized the cottage, drained the toilet and sink and added anti freeze. Have reattached all the screens on the porch with the staple gun. Finally put windshield washer fluid in my car and picked out and purchased 4 new tires. All stuff I would rather not have to do, not all that surprised that I can do it, just wish I never had to bother with it all. Oh sorry that sounded so pissy, it probably is. Evertime I am doing something I don't want to do or didn't have to do with Rob here I find I moan under my breath to him. Sure this will pass and I'll just do what has to be done. Hug, Donna
