This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss.
You have come to the right place. The people on this site are so kind and supportive. We all care, and we're here for you.
Hugs,
Janie
I am so sorry for your loss. As npc said, of course you are in shock, and you will be for awhile. Cry as much as you want, nap when needed, drink plenty of water and try to eat at least a little. We're here for you.

Ii am so, so sorry for your sudden loss. You are devastated.
We are all here to support you. Be kind to yourself.
Peace and love,
Sandra
I watched my wife of 27 years die in front of me 9 weeks ago yesterday. ER on Friday and gone following Thursday. You are right, no one should have to watch. And I know what you mean by feeling like you let her down. You did NOT. There are so many factors involved and we all go through the "if only I..." thoughts. I'm still going through them. But there are just so many things out of our control.
I am so sorry for your loss and I'm so glad you're getting so much support from your family and hers.
Come back often. We're here for each other. Oh don't I know it.
Peace.

and he closed his eyes, I laid my head on his pillow and moments later I heard him groan, they called a code and shortly after that he was gone. Don't torment yourself with the " what ifs". Realize it is out of our control. Please take care of yourself. Sleep when you can, stay hydrated, take your meds if you're on any, try to eat and keep your family and friends close. Keep coming back to this site as there
Are a lot of people on here that "get it". Remember that you are not alone. My prayers for peace and strength are with you.
