Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Cooking - not so much anymore. Today there is a meet up group so we are all getting together for lunch. Monday have a potluck.
I also think it is best to keep busy, help other people and keep engaged in life. I miss my spouse and the special relationship we had over so many years. So yes, best to keep busy.
Linda and I shared the cooking. My parents were divorced when I was very young and so I learned cooking and house chores along with laundry and repairing things around the house and the yard and car.
So when she finally found all this out over the years I couldn't play dumb anymore. But you know I never minded sharing any of it. I looked at ti as the quicker we got done the more time we could do other things. You know married folk things.
Anyway I really miss her. I know I'll see her again that day but now I really miss her.
Peace, Tim
After we would sit on our deck and talk about everything and look at the beautiful mountain views we are fortunate to have. We did the yard the day before he died (Saturday). He talked about how much he loved me, our daughters, grandkids and even the neighbors. He said he'd had a great life and grateful for everything he had. He said when I pass protect yourself. I said quit talking like that. He passed in his sleep the next morning. A Sunday. (6/14/15)
My kids say they are amazed at how much I can do around the yard and house. I said I had good teacher.
Happy Trails and Peace.......Gail
Good luck with keeping busy I'm doing the same and for the same reasons, and it works for me.
A dog (soon I cam going to get another) and 5 cats keep me busy plus my job at the school where I get summers off...
No one understands why I stay here....the open spaces, country life I would die in town....busy busy also with my Mom who still lives on her 5 acres...
