I flew to Vegas for Valentine's weekend. When I got to the airport to go home the airline informed me that there were no seats and I could not leave until the next day. I was not able to get on the same morning flight. They booked me on a flight that went through Dallas.
As I was boarding my flight to Dallas the next day my phone rang. It was my Sister telling me that our Mom was admitted to the hospital and it did not look good. I got upset and everything that had gone wrong that weekend came out in tears.
As the plane was taking off my seat asked me my name and introduced herself. Then she asked me if I was a religious woman and If I thought everything happened for a reason. I replied yes to both questions.
She slid her business card towards me, she was a Certified Life Coach & Angel Card Reader. She then asked me if I would be willing to visit with her on our 2 hour flight.
She gave me such insight on some things I was dealing with. It was very calming and empowering.
As they say "Everything happens for a reason" I never should have been on a flight that went through Dallas, but for some reason I was.
My Mom passed Yesterday just before noon. I did not get a chance to see her because we were told that she was stable and we expected her to last longer than she did.

Lessons to be learned, I don't know. I do know that we need to stop sometimes and listen. It's not always easy to do because we're running from here to there all the time.
Just STOP and listen there are life-lessons for us at the most unexpected times and when we least expect them.
Sometimes it seems our grief journey's will never end. I hope that your memories of your mother had some wonderful and fulfilling moments that will sustain you in the days ahead!
