Hello All: My husband died in truck accident on April 5, 2014. Just his truck. I read this site daily and I thank you all for your posts. I have 2 sons, 1 daughter, 4 sisters, 1 brother, my mother and 5 grandchildren. I am so lonely sometimes I want to die. All of these people love me yet nobody knows me. This could be because I don't know myself. Let me explain, my marriage of 35 years was not even close to perfect. I miss my not so perfect husband and I really miss being his not so perfect wife. The last year has been a struggle with what someone here refers to as the "rollercoaster of grief ". At 16 months its like it just happened yesterday. My husband hardly ever attended church with me, but now it is so hard for me to attend. I go and feel overwhelming sadness. I don't know if it is the ceremony of worship services or knowing he wont be there grilling chicken when I get home. I feel like 2 different people in 1 body. I smile for the people, I am strong for my family, but I am dying inside. I keep trying to fight this depression, work in the yard, keep everything working around the house. I keep trying but it feels like I am going backward instead of forward. Much more I could say but I will stop now. Thank you for hearing me out. Love to all.

My marriage was not perfect. We were married for 45 years. We had grown into that comfortable part of marriage where we loved each other in a way that is taken for granted. I cooked healthy meals, kept the house and his clothes clean, made our coffee every morning, and talked to him about his day at night. He took care of the cars, the yard, and things that needed fixing. He talked to me about my day in the evening. We both still worked, so our days were busy. After we talked in the evenings, he usually went to his man cave to watch a ballgame and I did my own thing to relax. We seldom went to bed at the same time, but always kissed each other goodnight.
I miss that comfort and ordinariness of my life with him. He also died very suddenly, on one of our comfortable evenings. I miss him so much that at times I also feel like I'm dying inside. But then I realize I have to learn to be comfortable with myself now, and I go on. One day at a time. Some days are becoming better than others.
I come here often. This site has been a blessing to me. Please come and vent as much as you need to. We're all here for you.
Peace to you,
Linda
I think about my marriage of over 40 years to Morey and although it certainly was NOT perfect it was mine and so was he!
He was my man and completed me.
I am now alone and lonely. I understand and wish you much grace in the days ahead. Although my loneliness is tempered by friends, family and an amazing dog.......life, without Morey in it, is not the same.
Warmly,
Roz
