Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
It is so sad that many have had to deal with these issues. I hope this resolves it for you and you can go on with your grief and life.
If they do try to start anything, call the police, and have a copy of the settlement agreement handy. You are legally as well as morally in the right, and they probablyt know that, but just in case, be prepared to show the police.
I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Sending you Big Hugs, Martha

Ghandi
Ghandi
I am sorry I had not heard this before, I have committed it to memory.
Taking the high road is always the best. You retain your dignity in doing so. Sometimes it is thankless and you live with that lump in yout throat for the things you wanted, needed to say. It is such a shame when things get to this point.
They are to sign an agreement they will accept this and never come back on me again. They wanted to come in 12 days after he died & take all of what was their dads.
I will have people here on the day they come, I can not decide if I want to be here or just leave. I am leaning to not being here, that way they can not confront me cuz if they do I am planning on blasting them good. SO if I stay away I won't regret anything I said, yet I sure would like to but I think the advice of Ghandi will make me the better person. We made an agreement they could no longer come in my home, or garages etc. Only on the porch to get the stuff.
I would stay at the house. I would also have other people there...more than one...and even a police officer if possible.
With you not there there is the chance they might try to "bully" or "run amok" on someone else. I think your presense might keep that from happening. You do not have to go outside.,.,.but be on the property.
I am also going to suggest that you have one person there with a video camera or able to video on the cell phone in case it gets out of hand...then you have on tape exactly what occurred. It also might makethem think twice if they get out of hand and and someone starts taping it. I would not bring it out unless they started something.
